Default Trailer Hitch for S

I gave up on Jeff Hammerly ever doing commercial production, and I didn't want any of the available alternatives. Steve kindly pointed me toward Doug Chase, in Duvall, who has made me a hitch, including installing it and the wires for the lights, for about the same price as the commercially available hitches. It's really a quality job, and comes off easily, leaving only the connection points bolted on the car (adding only a few ounces) on the car when I remove the hitch. I've ordered the Harbor Freight trailer, so that I can now haul tires and tools to a track or autocross.

I can highly recommend Doug--he really cares about his work, and is a pleasure to work with.

Cool. I didn't see any pictures of the hitch on his website, would you mind posting pictures of your setup?

I'd be highly interested in this.

I would be interested in purchasing the hitch for my MY04, do you think they would be interested in shipping out to Texas?

The hitch is very similar to this. I'll try to take pictures in the next couple of days and post them, but it's almost identical to that one.

If you would be willing to install it, he may well be willing to sell it to someone out of state. Give him a call, or send him an email.

I brought my car back to Doug Chase; he's going to take pictures and post on his website. At that point, he says he'll be happy to talk with people about commercial production of the hitch, and shipping them.

If it was Sunday, the S2000 you saw on WA16 was headed to or from the autocross in Bremerton.

Actually, that is not an uncommon sight.

Hi All,

I'm Doug Chase, owner of Chase Race. I'm the one that made the hitch for 124spider above.

There appears to be some demand for these hitches so I am going to start producing them. By the end of next week I should have a jig made and have production started.

I do not yet have a page up on http://www.chaserace.com but in the meantime I have included some photos below.

The price will be $500 installed. For mail orders it will be $500 plus shipping. Washington residents must be charged 8.4% sales tax.

The hitch shown below is for the 2004+ rear bumper cover. I believe this will fit an '00 - '03 model but I have not verified it. It may hang a little too low and not look as good. If somebody in the Seattle area has an '00 - '03 S2000 that would like a hitch, please contact me. I'll build one to fit perfectly and then I'll have the measurements to make perfect hitches for both rear bumper styles.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Doug Chase

Could you provide more details about the attachment? Something needs to be welded on the car? Where exactly?
