Default AFE filter for S2000

Guys:

Not sure if anyone has already posted this, but AFE filters now has a drop-in filter for the S2000 airbox.

The part number is 10-10065.

Contact AFE Sales for the dealer in your area (AFE sells direct, but usually at a higherr price than vendors). 877.512.8111

I am buying one from a dealer in Manassas - 703.361.2227

I think these are the best engineered aftermarket gauze filters around.

I'll have to pick one of those up.

It'd be nice if they made something like this too:

If I'm not mistaken, the mugen intake comes with an AFE filter. Or at least mine came with a sticker from AFE.

I am convinced this filter's radiused inlet is allowing my car to pick up some torque, and exceptional throttle response. Compared to the K&N it replaced, the AFE looks like a Bentley, the K&N a crude Yugo. No comparison.

Any sound difference going to K&N or AFE drop in replacements over the stock filter? From the threads I've read, it appears the stock box is pretty efficient.

Pricewise, are the AFEs in the same price range as K&N?

I'm still on the fence as to if I should go with a drop in replacement filter like the AFE or to get the gen 2 FIPK K&N intake... will both give me a bit better throttle response?

Sorry this took so long. Yes, it is for the Comptech on my S2000. The number is: 20-55507 Universal: 5-1/2" Flg, 7" Base, 4-3/4" Top, 7" Ht . The fit is excellent.

Regards

yes, thats the one I got on my comptec CAI. however it wont seat all the way against the intake tube, because the top is to fat, and it bumps on the bottom of the box. I thought you had a different model #. the 24- 55506, or 24 -55505 may fit better. but its not as big. so it may affect the airflow. thanks.
