Default MY04-05-06 clutch delay slave cylinder removal

The other day I smoked my clutch bad doing a VTEC entry onto the freeway. The 04 slave cylinder finally me to the point I felt like getting rid of the car.

I finally got around to doing this mod after gathering notes and tools required. Don't be intimidated because the write up is long..... it's easy. I did it for those who might be a little nervous.... you can follow it like a recipe.

TOTAL TIME: 45 Minutes to 1 hour

Tools required:
Honda heavy duty brake fluid DOT 3

great post & write up too!

I totally agree this mod is awesome - billman250 helped me by prepping an 04 slave and together at a recent tech day we switched mine for the delayless one...

GREAT MOD!

Yes.....

It's a PITA with the delay intact. I felt like everytime I wanted to go for a spirited drive.

I also lost confidence with any "street encounters" with it in.

With it removed....I've fallen in with my car all over again...

I have no idea what this feels like. Can anyone be more specific as to what the problem is? Does every AP2 have this problem?

clutch slave mod basically eliminates the delay valve in 04/05 slave (cost of labor only) or by using 03 slave (cost of labor plus $60 for slave) -

what you end up with is more responsive clutch feel - no delay on engagement - more aware of greater feel at higher rev shifts...

with OEM 04 slave cyl there is a sense that the clutch is slipping from the delay valve function. with the mod this slipping effect is eliminated.

the hardest part of the mod - if you can call it hard? - is bleeding the clutch. If you want to do this mod to the the 04/05 slave this write up is really good.

all work done is of course at your own risk.

hope this helps.
