Default More Axis Reverb

So I ordered these rims a few weeks ago, before I had seen or heard anything about fitment on an s2000, aside from what Axis told me. About one week later, a fellow s2ki member mounted them, and posted some pictures, which clearly pointed out that they don't fit properly.

I had already ordered them, so I had to stick with it. I got them last night, here are some pics on an '03 GPW.

Wheel Specs: Anthracite 18" Axis Reverb, 18x8.5 +45 front, 18x9.5 +55 rear

Tire Specs: BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW, 225/40/18 front, 265/35/18 rear

As far as rubbing, I did some spirited driving (100km/h in the corners) last night, and it rubbed badly on the rears when i hit bumpy terrain (our roads here are horrible). I suppose thats to be expected though considering the 2" increase in size and the bad fitment. So lowering is probably out of the question.

Let me know what you think, and what you think I should do, ie. flip the wheels on ebay and get something else. I'm pretty happy with them, I think they look better on GPW than Silverstone, but thats just my opinion.

PS. The KDW's are amazing, feels like i'm on rails, definetely great tires. I may be biased though, my S02's were basically slicks, so any tire would have made a huge difference.

They're hot wheels, but heavy. 10lb more of rotating mass is significant. The tires look mean and loud. Are they loud?

I'd like to see a shot at one of the rears to see how bad they stick out.

wheels looks good, but they are Axis rims so the quality probably is not too good and of course weights a ton. As for rubbing, isn't 255/35/18 closer to the rear stock wheel diameter?

I've never bought wheels before, whats the deal with those blue caps/plugs at the base of each spoke? I took one out, and the spokes are hollow. Are they only for packing? They look kinda ghetto if I leave them in. Would it be bad to remove them and let water etc get inside there?

they look ok - but yeah - the whole stick out thing is pretty nasty.

And I bet you'll find yourself staring at the road, cringing at the sight of any bump in anticipation of the rubbing - you won't enjoy driving your car anymore, so I suggest lose the wheels, take a bit of a loss, and buy something that fits properly.
