People have been asking so here you go.

Now. This is top up, radio off, vents off, etc. So as quiet as it can get inside the car. Also the camera is mounted where the windscreen is, so it's closer to the source than either driver or passenger would be. Plus, the camera seems to amplify the sound. To me (and my girlfriend) this is a fair amount louder than what it actually is like in the car, not to mention we usually have the radio on or are talking anyways. I also have an invidia exhaust.

Also here's a quick vid of what the acceleration is like. Maybe you can notice a difference maybe not. Every S2000 driver i've had in my car notices an immediate differnece, and generally says something to the effect of "wow, it goes through the gears fast". From a 5mph roll, I can put about 4 cars on a stock S2k. (I'll have video of that soon, plus the 2 S2ki members I raced could verify). Also, my tires were slipping a little when shifting to 2nd, as it's raining out.

Sweet videos . I can definitely notice how much faster your car revs compared to stock especially on your 1-2 shift. I think i might have to go with the 4.77's though. Not sure if i could handle that whine .

 

again. the whine varies. i chose one of the loudest points, which is about 45-47mph. as you can see, it gets much quieter at 40mph. also notice I'm in 5th gear at 40mph. hehe. and also, keep in mind, this is in a perfectly quiet car, with the camera closer to the source, as well as the fact that it seems to be amplifying it a bit.

my girlfriend has never complained of the gear whine. in fact, so far, no passenger I've had has complained.

thank you thank you! I always wondered what the whine would sound like. A lot lower pitch than I expected. If it is actually amplified by the camera than I think I can definitely live with the whine, especially with the hardtop. Thanks again. Hopefully i could get the gear this summer. btw did you send it to hardtopguy through rick for the install?

no i did the install with my friend who works at a honda dealership. took us longer as it was the first S2k diff for the both of us, but I got it down now. heh.

It definitely revs alot faster, but I noticed your max speed on the gears are lower. Like 8mph lower in 2nd gear.

Does the car 'feel' any different from stock?

And I wonder if someone can make a 4.77 video XD

 

The car is much different. It "feels" like there is a lot more power down low in any gear, plus is chews through 1st and 2nd gear much quicker.

2nd gear is only 4mph shorter, not 8mph. Redlines at about 58mph instead of 62mph.

This is a life-altering mod for the S2k.
