Default Parking Guide.

are you coming to city? you want to know where you can park? these are my suggestions.

from jersey to midtown.
- park it at port imperial and take ferry. parking costs around $9 (I think) and ferry costs about $6 to midtown. if you are going to javit center, In my opinion, this is the best route.

lower manhattan - Lorie's recommendation.
- pier 40 parking lot on west side hwy. they are about $15. can't beat that price.

Fort Lee
- Our usual meeting spot for the event. it's a municipal parking lot. I'll post direction later.

please add more recommendations.

thanks,

need to park in NYC/Manhattan? and don't really want to drive around Manhattan or leave the car with a human being attendant?

42nd Street Park & Lock between 9th & 10th Aves- nice wide spots in single rows - no attendants shuffling cars - secure.

Prices have recently gone up in before 10am $14 dollars/day after 10am $19/day

there are a few other park & Lock facilities in Manhattan - this one is just outside of the Lincoln tunnel

Park & Lock in Manhattan:

Lincoln Center. Two entrances, one on 62nd (I think) the other on 65th between Amsterdam and Broadway. Indoor. Has antique gas pumps.

31st between 7th and 8th. Indoor. (near Madison Square Garden,Penn Station)

11th Ave at around 60/61street. Outdoor.

107 Essex Street, just North of Delancey Street. Outdoor.

Battery Park Garage. Indoor.

bkw, are you looking for a self park or a good garage w/ attendants???

Until very recently, I drove in 1 or 2 times a week for the last few years and parked on 47th at 2nd. The garage I used is on the right hand side of the street. DON"T use the left hand side garage, a cramped POS. I NEVER had a dent, ding or paint chip. You will see a few Ferraris, Lambo, Porshe, etc in the garage.

Early bird (before 10:00am) was $19.00 (tax included) until close. I usually threw the guys $5 when I left it in the morning and $5 when I picked it up. Money well spent - - - after the first few weeks, they would bring it up to street level and I wouldn't have to wait after I paid.

btw, at the time I worked at JPMC at 47th & Park. Now I'm downtown at 75 Wall.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

I too used to work at JPMC at 270 Park. I'm now diagonally across the street at UBS @ 299 Park

What dept are/were you in?

bkw, at the time I was in a projects group within Rates Middle Office (Investment Bank-Dan McDonagh), moved to Corporate Resiliency Risk Management (Paula Larkin), both at 270 and now I'm a business manager for the GTI Portfolio and Program Management Group.

Note the garage I mentioned is directly across the street from the 'Y' in the same building as the Ruth Chris.
