Default Front License Plate

Recently, we have been hearing about more and more instances of people getting pulled over for not having a front plate.

My wife got pulled over two weeks ago by a State Highway Officer and received a warning card.

I got pulled over for speeding last year and got a ticket for no front plate, but went to court and plead out the front plate ticket.

It had been 10 years of driving with no front plate prior to that ticket.

Well, as far as my story goes, I think the officer was out to get DUI offender last night.

So far I have not had any issues without the plate but beginning to wonder whether it is worth the trouble. Going to figure out how to mount the plate on the front grill so I don't have to touch the bumper.

BTW, Welcome back.

I hear what you are saying.

Dave was over tonight and we were looking at the ways of mounting the plate up and inside the grill (to avoid drilling the bumper).

And thanks for the "welcome back"!

I was cited twice in the Evo.

First time I didn't have a plate. Second time I mounted it on the windshield (Liljapnboy style) and still got a ticket!!

This was very odd this year. The head dude for the state patrol told News 4 that he felt the bill would pass this year for sure. Then, 2 weeks later it was canned. I think the cops are out to prove they can offset the cost of the front plate by generating revenue with $100 citations. I think they are trying to get their point across at our expense.

Dave and Gary- I thought about grinding down the plate on top and bottom, then attaching it the grill with magnets or something. Would this reduce air flow into the car? I just ordered a JDM front plate holder from Ricks. Should be here by Christmas.

I just use the OEM mount and its fine and is a clean installation. I hate front plates too, but its not worth the ticket.
