Default Comptech Supercharged cars

Spending a few thousand is nothing to sneeze at.

Would you supercharge your car again? Have you experienced many mechanical problems since? Did you feel the gains were worth the money spent?

Yep, I'd do it again. The S really comes alive with the blower. No mechanical issues at all so far. I got a smokin' deal. I'd do it again if I could get the same deal. I would most likely not pay retail but would still buy the S anyway.

ps. Moving to the F.I. forum.

If I could have gotten one used again I would have done it sooner!

After driving my S NA for over 2 years and 50k+ miles, I had to learn to drive the car all over again. And loved doing it.

I'm in the process of adding even more to it. If you're looking for bragging rights on the street, go turbo. If you want more oomph and driveability, go SC.

Installed my Comptech at 38K miles, and have been loving it ever since. The only "bug" I ran into was a faulty map sensor (nothing a "map whack" couldn't fix...I have since replaced it altogether with a new unit).

I agree, spending a couple thousand on a part (or parts) is nothing to take lightly....you just gotta keep on the lookout for a killer deal. I waited till there was a group buy on the Comptech, and got lucky when Hardtopguy held one late last year.

Good luck!

Additionally, there are more costs involved than just the cost of the sc kit. You can't go into the process thinking, "Ok, I just spent $4500, I'm good to go!" Unless you're like xviper, you're gonna want a new pressure plate/clutch installed before the sc install.

I would definitely do it again if I come across a really good deal on a used supercharger.

No major problems here either.

Back a couple of years ago I decided to go with Comptech because I really didn't like any of the current turbo kits on the market. But if I could do it again I would go with the LoveFab turbo kit. The LoveFab kit is actually alot cheaper than my supercharger setup.

Just installed mine last night.... OMFG the Aftercooler was a BITCH to install with all the hoses to the Front Mount. After all is send and done I threw a CEL this morning.....

Scratched my head a few times ......looked at the configuration and realized I never installed the 5" hose to the ACV...

Installed it......reset the ECU.......all is golden.

Took about 8 hours to install with my buddy and I can tell you that after taking it out for a test run.....I was smiling ear to ear and my wifes brother who's never been in anything faster than a 98 corolla was looking quite pale..

Would I do it again?.... HELL YEAH!!!! Install it yourself and it makes it even more worth it...
