Paint mismatch
I just bought an '04 Silverstone (a new one that was a leftover) and although I didn't notice it in the dealers showroom, I can see a slight color difference between the front bumper and the hood. I don't notice it so much when it is parked in the garage but at dusk when it is in the driveway it's pretty noticeable.
I have read on other posts that Silverstone is the hardest color for the factory to match between panels. I have even seen some pictures of Silverstones on this web site that look like mine, a half a shade darker on the bumper.
Do any of you Silverstone owners notice this on your cars or am I just being anal about the whole thing?

I believe its because of a difference in materials between the plastic (bumper) and the hood (metal), but I could be wrong.
Mine also.
When I bought it I thought it may have been in a wreck and repainted ... not the case ... just the nature of the beast.
Only noticeable when you really look for it in certain light conditions.

That is correct. The base material has a great effect on color. It will also get worse over time as your plastic bumper fades more than the sheet metal. Plastic bumpers are also more likely to be effected by acid rain and things like that. A good coat of wax at regular intervals can prevent this for the most part.
On a side note, I noticed a much great difference in color under incandescent lights in my garage. That's not a normal viewing light for a car though as it's usually sunlight or street lighting.
