Road America outing...BRIC July 16th and 17th
Many years ago (back in 2000), the local area S2000 owners started an annual outing to the Road America BRIC event (Brian Redman International Challenge). It's a big weekend for vintage racers, Elkhart Lake, and those of us that venture up north.
We get to hang out in the paddock area and see the pitted crews, vendors, watch some fast cars, have the option to take part in parade laps, and go see some real vintage cars in town after the racing is done.
There's some great eateries out there as well.
Keith (aquatic, aka "s2kLove") and I attended the first three BRIC's the local S2000 owners outing to the BRIC, and then it just fell off. Since Keith and I have been hanging out for the past three weekends consistently, and ran into an old friend by the name of Bob Kranz, we brought up the idea of re-vitalizing the outing this year. Anyone interested?
It's about a 2 hour drive to Elkhart, a long day in the sun, and loud engine exhaust noise ringing through your ears for about 4 hours. Then it's off to a nice dinner and some great drink.
Here's more info on the BRIC itself:

So should I be buying my tickets ahead of time?
If so what tickets would we need?

We'll have to decide on whether to do the Saturday qualification day, or the Sunday race day.
In the past we've done both Saturday and Sunday. I'd rather go the Saturday. It's more laid back at the track, there's more going on in the vendor's alley, and we can go much later into the night in Elkhart (more food and drink).
Let's get more people to sign in and see when they'd like to come. BTW, we can kind of stake our own piece of the land at track-side and have all the S2000's park together.

Sh!t!!!....wife tells me that this weekend is a big wedding weekend that I can't miss. Three weddings in two days.
Please go ahead and still plan on attending this event. I'll try to squirm out of attending the two Saturday weddings and see if I can't make it up that day.

When I checked the Road America website I see you can drive the track for $75.00. Does anyone know the particulars on this option?
If things work out I might be able to pick up my son in Appleton and drive over for Saturday but things need to fall in place before I can confirm.

I agree with Harry.
But if you've nenver down anything like this, its fun. And you should be able to bring your kid and he'll love it. Just saying you've been on that track is something in its own.
Harry can add here, I don't believe there is a helmet required and I would think kids above 13 would be fine, but I'm not 100% on this.
I've done it once where we got over 100mph and another time where I hit a high of 80, so it depends, just don't line yourself up to close to the front.
Harry are you going?? Love to see you there, its been to long.
Who else is up for Saturday??
Lots of fun and it goes into the night as well.
And if you have more money then God you could always buy a car or two at the auction.
