Default Lake Day 2005

The 4th Annual S2K Lake Day at the Tees Aquatic Complex on Lake Tyler East is upon us. Make plans to attend! Typically one of the better social events of the year, and "what happens in Arp, stays in Arp".

When: Saturday, July 9th 2005

Lake Activities:
- Lunch (brauts, burgers, sides and desert).
- tubing and skiing aboard Al & Nancy's boat
- Jet skiing
- Canoeing
- Sun bathing/swimming/reading/socializing
- Water Slide
- Volleyball
- Ping-pong
- Darts
- Saturday late afternoon drive on the twisties around the lake
- Dinner in Tyler
- Travel back home

Travel Schedule: We'll meet at Starbucks just north of the Galleria
(intersection of Alpha and Noel Roads) at 8:30am and will leave promptly
at 9:00am. Maps and directions will be available in case we get
separated. It will take about a little over 1.5 hours to
get to the lake house, as it is 100 miles east of Dallas. If you are
running late or get lost, call us on the wireless at 214.789.1001 or 817-366-3186.

Cost: We will be taking donations for gas (for the boats) and food. $5
per person should help cover costs.

What you should bring:
- Swimsuit
- Towels
- Sunscreen
- Floats
- Folding Chairs
- Beverages
- Change of Clothes

Feel free to bring a friend or significant other! To help us get a count
for food, please reply if you plan on attending preferably
on or before Thursday, July 7th.

I was going to insert a photo, but can seem to get that working today. Maybe Photodave can help me out.

This sounds like fun

Questions:

1. Al, what kind of boat do you have?

2. How much traffic is on this lake typically?

3. David B, are you going and if so, are you bringing a waverunner or two?

Tx

Again, this sounds like a a great time...

I won't be able to meet up for the drive to the lake because I have to get my competitive waterskiing out of the way Saturday before I come out. I think I can be there by 10:30 AM.

I am going to try to bring:

1. A trick ski for myself (I have to borrow it, so I can't share it)
2. A kneeboard which I own (for everyones use)
3. a 65" slalom ski (sm bindings (size 6-8) for any women who want to learn)
4. a 67" slalom ski (lg bindings (Size 8-10) for the men who want to learn)

I can also bring a tube, but I kinda hate the thing... Hopefully Al has one of those dreaded things. Just let me know.

Can I get directions from you so I can come out later in the morning?

Thanks,

Tx_Phantom

Anyone that wants to meet us there and miss the drive over, just PM me a request and I will email directions in return.

Just to be cute, the location of the Tees Aquatic Complex is N32deg15.469', W095deg07.116' according to my GPS. Helpful?

Regards,

Al

If I bring a couple of jet skis I will need to drive the truck.

I am not sure if we can make it, that is just a few days before we are sceduled to close and move into the new garage, I mean house so it is conceivable that we will have to be packing that weekend. I'll keep ya posted

I don't remember, is there a place to launch the jet skis right there or would we need to find a ramp someplace else?
