Check to make sure the speaker magnet will fit in between the metal behind the panels.
Mark out where it is to go, remember, measure twice, cut once.
Use a Dremel tool or similar to cut out the hole, clean up with the metal brush attachment.
I am using 4" speakers I had lying around, but apparently 5" also fit without much of a problem.
Mount the speaker.
Repeat on the other side. run the cable from the passenger side under the secret compartment to the drivers sideand tuck under te carpet toword the floor. Put the rear panels back on.
Run both cables tucked up under carpet of the centre console, held in place by the push studs.
Below is the back of the HU, Note the loom is missing 4+ points, these are the rear speaker points, use the above Keedyweb link to decifer which points are which. I am curruntly trying to get my hands on the right sized pins to fit into the loom ( Sorry Matt, they were too big, Next size down, thanks for your help) so i have only temp installed these in place.
Put the HU back in and test. Just like a bought one.
Thanks to Dbzerk for your help, as well as Mr Keedy and Lucid.

That ain't gunna cut it. The stock headunit puts out something like 12w and the front speakers in an '00 are made from recycled egg cartons.
I recommedn replacing the front speakers and installing a small amp as the starting point.

Thanks mate , ive replaced the front speakers with a set of 3 way pioneers . improved sound quality , but nothing great .

Nice work!!!! Is it hooked up yet? Whats the sound difference like? Is it worth the hassle?
Hey blk2000, yeah, its all hooked up, gave it a quick spin around the block top down, but as the weather in brissy has been RS the last couple of days i havent been able to get it out on the highway top down.
I don't need a doof doof setup, i just wanted to hear the sound top down, and sofar it has been well worth the hassel, i think the speakers are worth $50 odd and that was the only cost. took about 2 hours to install, but if i did it again it would take half that time.
Next job will be to change out the door speakers. OK Aus.
All in all, well worth it and a very easy install. I recomend.

Hey Vuey, the phone holder is the standard phone holder for the Sony Ericsson T630, i also have the holder for my SE P910 that clips onto the same bracket depending on which phone i am using.
