Default what springs offer the smoother ride?

Hi everyone, as the topic says, I would like to know which springs offers the smoother and softer ride.

Based on your experiences, how stiff was the ride with whatever springs you have installed compared to stock?

Thanks in advance.

My Eibachs are stiffer than stock. Kidneypounders.

Here are some spring rate comparisons that might help you decide on a spring. Out of the two you mentioned, the Teins are a bit stiffer than the Eibachs.

The following spring rates are courteousy of Oryanh's post.

Lbs.(kg/mm)

Tein S-Tech:
Fr: 297(5.3) - Rr: 364(6.5)

Eibach Pro-Kit
Fr: 262(4.67) - Rr: 342(6.1)

Espelir Active Super Down
Fr: 313.6(5.5) - Rr: 392(7.0)

KG/mm sport:
Fr: 398(7.0) - Rr: 448(8.0)

Neuspeed:
Fr: 280(5.0) - Rr: 215(3.8)

I recently installed some Tein S-Techs. Car looks good, but the rear end is a little lighter. The front end has less roll and basically goes where you point it. Steering response is improved. All in all, im satisfied and will have to adjust to the lighter rear end. Too bad aftermarket spring manufacturers dont make a spring setup that is directly related as an upgrade to the factory 04-05 suspension settings. I.E. front being stiffer than the rear as opposed to having the rear stiffer than the front. At this point, with a stiffer rear spring, the rear shock absorbers do not feel underdampened...which I had a feeling they might be, considering the factory setup on a 04-05 is a softer rear spring with the shock valved accordingly.

Factory spring rates:

OEM:
00-01 - Fr: 218(3.9) - Rr: 291(5.2)
02-03 - Fr: 240(4.3) - Rr: 230(4.1) <<est.
2004 (this is a tough one...)

If calculated against 00-01 rates (based on quote above)
Fr: 233(4.16) - Rr: 262(4.68) (218 - 7%= 233) (291 - 10%= 262)
If calculated against 02-03 rates
Fr: 256(4.57) - Rr: 207(3.7) (probably incorrect)

Hope this information helps.

get the espelirs....rides a little stiffer than stock, but by no means a "kidneypounder" ad someone mentioned. Also, gives the car a nice drop too!

I use to have the Comptech adjustables, I thought they where basically Eibach springs. All I know is that they were just as soft as stock to me.

Then I can't go wrong with tein s-tech, they are cheap and offer a smooth ride.
