You know I was thinking and I'm not sure if this would be legal or not - instead of the standard alarm siren (which everyone ignores), could you make the horn blare out really loudly something like "STOP TOUCHING ME" or "STOP GROPING ME" or "STOP R*PING ME" in a feminine voice? I'm sure that this would draw attention and the thief would totally not be expecting that lol.

This might be a better choice than a female recording

Wow.. That's a great idea! I think I'm going to try to build a system like that and try it out on my old 87' Integra! Another idea.. (doubt I'm the first to think of it) I have two pieces of aluminum sheet metal about 1/4" apart stuck to the underside of the door handle on the integra with double sided foam type tape.. There is a wire running from each plate to the terminals of a transformer I found in some old appliance.. (I think it may have been an old TV).. Anyway, i mounted a small momentary switch that closes a circuit when either door handle is lifted while the alarm is armed.. This sends power to a small motor which turns a cam/point system (VERY similar to a distributor) that sends power in small flashes to the transformer, energizing it around 2 or 3 times a second which in turn sends 120V pulses to the two aluminum plates underneath each door handle. As soon as the alarm is disarmed, no power is sent to the door handle momentary switch. I tried it after installing it, and it isn't any fun.. I wonder if anyone has patented it yet..

Back in 93-94, when carjackings were just getting started in LA, HOFCO came out with an alarm that, if not first disabled with a hidden toggle switch, cut off engine power 30 seconds after ignition start and released a jolt of something like 50,000 volts from the steering wheeel. It was quickly outlawed.

It's common for hardened cars to have contacts under the door handles. If the car is locked and you try to lift the handle, pow! You don't need 50,000 volts, 12 is plenty! If you don't believe me hook up booster cables to your battery and touch the ends on your tongue

Trunk monkey is always a classic.
