Lot's of rare and interesting pics...
I bombarded a thread just so I could get my point across. But I think it would be better suited if I cut and paste everything from that thread that I wrote so you guys can get convinced to go out to the tracks and well have fun with your cars! I know I have tremendous fun at the tracks on anything with wheels.
I'm only doing this because I think in America the car scene is more catered to shows then it is to racing. Now with the sudden outburst of drifting, the racing scene seem like it will be harder to grow. In asia or europe it's much different, and racing is first before show or drifiting or even drag racing. It's slowly growing here, but well there's not enough people involved i think. Maybe this can spark some interests...

I agree, we need more S2000s out on the track. Too many people concentrated on modding their cars and not even knowing what they want to improve. But i guess all the JdM bLiNg WilL givE y0 maD p0iNts aT dA shoWs y0! All that so you can come back home and look at the trophy you earned from spending over 10,000 dollars.

BTW, for people that missed the track day/Honda Cup this weekend, it was great! I had tons of fun!

let me tell you speedventures is not the only place you can track your car. with more people going, more organizations can rent the tracks for more days. making more track days available throughout the year. speedventures is where most S2000 track their cars though. there are track days almost everyday of the week throughout the whole year. i've been to a lot of other track organization except for speedventures, but now that i own an S2000 i would like to meet some of the people that track their cars with speedventures so i can learn a bit from them as i would be considered a novice with this car. for all i know i can be the slowest driver of the bunch. you don't have to worry about going fast or slow. just go out learn to drive your car, and remember have FUN!!!
here's a link for some of you guys... and this is just california track days...
http://track-days.org/page1.html
that link is for the people that say they don't have time to go? well like i said it's almost everyday. just go clubbing less, or go shopping less, or buy less things for your cars and you'll have money to spare to go at least one track day a month.
i do try to post on the racing forum, but most of them ignore me. the few that do, i appreciate their help and advise. it's probably because they do not know me and think i'm some jdm fool who has never been on the track with no track experience at all. maybe things will change once they meet me on october...
but let's get back on topic... it's not that hard, all u need is some decent tires and pads that will last the day or weekend! it's really fun, i swear to god! i've been hooked for 10 years of my life now. i enjoy every car/motorycle/shifter karts/toys i own with wheels. i'm now 25. not too old, but not too young either.
just don't go out to the track to prove something... and you'll learn a lot.

Well, the ratio is pretty heavily tilted to show cars... But I don't mind, if you think about it; it keeps the sessions clean and the traffic light.

I don't think the Racing and Competition forum is anti - JDM, it's anti-bling and anti-stupidity.
Sometimes you'll see flames there because people come in assuming they need to get a suspension, BBK, and whatever else before they have even gone out on the track! And they don't like hearing the R&C guys tell them that they don't need anything, that they just need some seat time. That's why you see flames...
Another thing...the R&C forum isn't anti-JDM , otherwise they wouldn't be recommending getting Volk CE28Ns. The JDM products people ask about, like project mu brakes, tein suspension, etc. , most of those products aren't really used by regular track guys. There is no experience with them, and not much data to back them up. There IS evidence, experience with American products like Cobalt brakes, Saner swaybar, etc. Maybe they'll accept these JDM products more if some of you guys actually went to the track more often, so we can compare .
Anyway, JMO...

Do take that with a grain of salt. The guys in R&C are pretty cool once you get to know them and come out to the track. There are alot of people on the board that are all talk, you jsut need to differentiate yourself from them first.

i actually believe they are nice guys because i've met many genuine friendly people at the tracks through the years... i wouldn't be planning to go out with speedventure if i thought differently though.

they're not so anti JDM afterall. I do use non JDM parts too. I use to have a cobra suzuka bucket seat, shroth harness, etc... I use to use pads that was supplied by andie at cobalt. From the days he was working at carbotech, I was using carbotech. When he started Cobalt, I started using ferodo's, then eventually he got his line out, and well Cobalts. That is why I'm trying to get more JDM part guys to go out. There is so little information for track use regarding JDM parts. I had such a hard time finding miscallaneous parts for my coilovers. If more of these people with JDM parts come out the S2000 community I think will be that much better. They can actually see what the parts can do for them. More power to the people and more information to everybody!
So why don't you help me out to convince some of these guys to come out! Enjoy their cars, and learn! It's beneficial to all of us I think.
