Default Hill Country Drive

Alright,

Due to popular demand, I'm setting up a group drive for August 27, 2005. Here are the basics:

Who: Anybody who reads this forum and wants to join in the fun

What: Drive for about 1.25 hours to Utopia, TX for lunch. After lunch, we'll go on some awesome roads through the hillcountry. I will take a vote at lunch as to how much longer people want to drive before going back home. If the answer is only a couple more hours (we'll already be an hour and fifteen minutes from where we started), we'll just go on one quick run and head back, if the answer is for the next 3-5 hours, we'll go on a NICE scenic run through some of the best roads in this part of Texas.

Where: Meet in the parking lot behind Whataburger on the NE corner of the intersection of Bandera Rd (Hwy 16) and Loop 1604 on the northwest side of town.

When: 9:30am, August 27, 2005 (We will depart promptly at 10:00am)

Why: To burn lots of gas for no other reason than to have fun.

Come with a full tank of fuel (there's an Exxon station right there at that intersection that usually has decent prices)... If we go on the longer run, you'll definitely need a full tank.

Hope to see you all out there. I'm going to Utopia that day for pie no matter if anybody shows up or not.

Rick, Count me in. I am looking forward to going to see other parts of this big state, and something other than flat farm land.

Hmmm....sounds like fun. You know Ricky...you don't really have to tell us all the details...much like Ron Burgandy, all you have to say is:

ASSEMBLE MY S2K BITCHES!!!

I swear...we'll come out of the woods like squirrels for a golden nut.

My wife and I went with the S2K group last year on a "PIE RUN" and loved it... alittle rain and all. I think we will be there.

Sounds great, guys. Sorry this time won't work out for you, hornsfan... Next time I'll try to plan one on a Sunday morning instead of a Saturday morning.

Dwight & Nancy, it will be great to see you guys back out there again!

Bryan, Dean & Deana: I'll be looking forward to showing you guys some nice fun roads since you all are new to the area.

Ricky, they better be good roads with lots of twisties . You know I have a very good idea of what a fun road should be. But it will be good to jsut get out of the SA area and see something else.

haha... It will take a little while to get to the REALLY good roads, but you will not be disappointed. It's the closest thing to Deal's Gap you can get in Texas... Just not quite as many turns.
