Thumbs up HELP! Moving 60" TV in 50" space

Ok, so I just moved off of Parker and Preston and I ran into a huge problem. I have a 60" widescreen projection screen TV (yes, its big and heavy) but it won't fit into my new place.

The new place is townhome style: 3 stories, 1st floor is just the garage and the living room, etc. are on the second floor. The problem is that the staircase almost spirals, like a "U" and there is not enough space to wiggle the TV through in order to get it upstairs.

Does anybody around here have access to, or can you recommend a person/place that has the equipment to hoist/lift the TV up to the second floor so that we could fit it onto the balcony and through the balcony door? I was thinking maybe a fork lift could lift it up that high (not sure of the exact hight, but its the 2nd floor!).

If not, does anybody wanna buy a 60" Phillips HDTV???

A fork lift could get it up to the balcony, but you'd have to get it lowered back from where the balcony rails are down to the balcony itself... I don't have access to a forklift (or know how to drive one, haha)... sorry.

So you're saying that it's impossible to carry it upstairs? Meaning physical size is the limitation and not manpower. Otherwise seem like a job a day-laborer could do.

You might talk to someone at one of the Big Screen TV stores. Maybe where you bought yours? I'm sure they have dealt with this before and have figured out how to best handle it? Maybe you can hire whoever the store uses to deliver big screen TV's?

Good luck! Stay safe and don't drop it!

Use a catapult? What an idea! I'd probably pay to watch that method. Make sure to film it. Reminds me of something they did like that on MTV "Jackass"! Next you'll want him to put the TV on one end of a see-saw and jump on the other end to launch it up!
