Default I'm back in an S2K

So after nearly 2 years in the TSX, I got another S2K yesterday. It's a 2002 with about 31k miles on it. It's bone stock...for now. I think I just want to do the Spoon X-Brace and a filter again and leave it at that.

Congrats Kurt!

Time to do some detail work and get ready for some fall drives. Maybe we'll see it at the Saturday car show?

So on a sad note, not 3 days into the ownership on this car and I have given myself a good reason to join PETA. I donated my right rear suspension and wheel to a curb to save a cat's life. We hit it at about 30 mph, so the damage isn't as bad as some curb-surfing damage I've seen. Myself and the passenger are fine, but the car has sustained a little injury. The wheel edge cracked right where the spoke meets (but the tire didn't bust), the lower control arm snapped quite cleanly, the rotor snapped in half, the heatshield for the hub knuckle bent a bit, and the endlink for the sway bar came clean off.

I'm impressed that the trailing arm was unscathed and the remainder of the suspension seemed to be fine. I'll start the teardown on the car tomorrow morning to do a proper inspection to really see what I'm looking at. I've already initiated a claim with my insurance company, and they're going to follow up with me tomorrow morning. I had the car towed to my dealer and will have them get the process started, being that they open at 7 (and I go in at 8:30).

I took a couple pics on my brother's camera, so I don't have them in my possession yet. He'll email them to me tonight. Just curious, is this a sign?

Ouch... Sorry to hear about that. One thing I always say; if the animal is smaller than your car and it's dumb enough to jump out in the middle of the road...just hit it. I know I hit a dog once that had caused traffic to come to a stop on a highway offramp. The dog cut in front of some people and they all slammed on their brakes. Then when we all started moving again, the dog decided to go the other way and tried to run right in front of my car. By this point I was back up to ~30-35mph and there was a semi right behind me. No way was I going to get hit my a semi just to save from giving this stupid 40lb dog a headache... Smacked him in the head with the LF corner of my bumper. It survived, but looked pretty dazed in my rearview mirror.

Best of luck on that... The lower control arms are designed to break easily on these cars. The only concern I would have is to make sure there's no body damage from the wheel/tire hitting things.

No body damage at all. It is odd how simple the damage is. The estimate begins tomorrow instead. We kept the service department closed today to let the freshly-painted floors dry. This may get interesting.

Sounds like it will be a simple fix, then... Hope everything goes well with it.

What dealer do you work at?
