I met up with Johnschiavarelli earlier today to check out the 2002 silver/red and also take some pics of his car side by side with my 2000 silver/black.

The silver is definitely lighter, but I do like it. It looks close to the NSX silver I have seem in person before. When I saw Keller's black/red pics, I wasn't sure how much I liked the all red interior. After hanging out and looking at John's car for over 30min, the red dashboard and roll hoops definitely grew on me. My next door neighbor went with me and he is thinking about ordering a black/red now instead of red/black (he probably doesn't want silver since I have one).

The one thing I noticed was the clutch and transmission. John let me drive it around the block, and I can say without a doubt that the clutch is easier to engage and catches closer to the floor. The shifting is smoother than my S2000 w/9000 miles. My clutch/tranny were way tighter than his when it was new. Honda definitely did some work here. I'll have to take a spin in John's once he gets past the break-in. I have driven a clutch/tranny TSB'd 2000 and also a 2001 and they did not drive like this. John mentioned this in his other post about his 2002 https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=31858. Of course, maybe I'm smoking too much crack these days , anyone else notice the difference in the clutch/tranny?

Also, I really liked the glass rear window. Nice and clear . It does limit visibility just a bit as far as height goes, as it starts at the top of the factory windscreen.

The stereo system blows away the pre-2002 one

I'm not so sure about the leather on the shifter, I kinda like mine without it.

Oh, and Honda owes Rick some $$ for the console cover idea

Now for the pics....

Click here, I put them on a webpage with thumbnails to make it easier for the dial-up folks (and it's getting late and I can't figure out an easy way to do this via this board)

Silverbullet,

Thanks for the pics! Comparison was very informative, too.

Is it me or do the front bumper fake air ducts look smaller than on the MY2000?

It's really hard to tell. Maybe the appear smaller because of the different silver color?

As for the red... I'm holding my opinion until I see one in person

It looks a lot better than what I thought it would be. I think it can really grow on you as you see more and more all red interiors. Now I look back to Keller's car (Black/Red) and it looks pretty normal to me.

Im not so sure on the lighter silver.... I would have to see it in the flesh i think. Also the red everywhere thing is too much.
The main thing I do like is the little door tweeters. The rest they can keep...... the original rocks. imo

Thanks Silverbullet,

I had a Silver/red on order and I absolutely freaked and ranted and raved when I saw Kellers pictures of the new RED interior. I was however, very impressed with Josh and the way he handled the extreme criticism from this board, so many people get their feelings hurt (ya'll can be so cruel) , they whine and cry, but not Josh, he had the conviction of his choice and I applaud him for that.

I agree that the interior could grow on you, but I am so glad I was able to change my order to a silver/black. It would have been nice to have a CHOICE, all red? red/black? black/red?? I still can't figure why Honda didn't include that interior shot in its 2002 brochure, and what is the point of having a Honda News website, where they haven't even listed the MSRP for '02, not to mention all the colors, tranny and stereo. My Honda salesperson calls me when he needs info on an '02 and I get my knowledge here, not Honda.

Good luck with your car Johnschiavarelli-- I still have two more weeks to wait
