Default RE050 MZ / RE050

About to (finally!) order some new rear rubber for the MY04 - 245/40/r17 RE050's.

A couple of suppliers (e.g. Event Mobile @ 129) list RE050 MZ, whilst others list simply RE050 (e.g. Etyres @

Nope. Well... I dont think so anyway.

The 'W' in the '91W' is the speed rating (the '91' the load rating).

Abberviation for MuZ maybe?? Or Manchester Zoo (maybe the apes swing n them)?

Just tried the Bridgestone 'choose the right tyres' selector on their Website. You get as far as 'Honda' and it lists everything BUT the S2000.

Just emailing them....though I'm not hopeful of a useful response....

MZ is listed on my tyres for sure. Also they make another model known as the BZ for the MB C-Class etc. I spoke with the technical dept, when Event brought the wrong tyres, and they told me not to use anything but the MZ.

oooh....thanks for that Rahula.

Think I'll email Honda 2mo - see what they say? And Bridgestone (if they get back to me).

Why is nothing in life simple....

Forget calling Honda, it isn't worth the hassle. Ring Bridgestone technical and they will confirm. Event tyres are also aware of this fact.

Been there done that. You need the RE050MZ tyre.
Event Mobile will already know this as I had them change the first set they did.

Non MZ spec tyres are generic or as Rahula say's Merc tyres from the SL IIRC.

etyres know about the MZ if you ask them but currently can't get any MZ's for the fronts so I'm having to go into my work office (my 6th visit in over 2 years) in Sale to use Event Tyres on Monday. I'll let you know how I get on. I did specify MZ's, they ask what car, you say S2000 and you can hear them nodding sagely over the phone.
