Default HKS Hi-Power Exhaust vs Invidia? (Noise Comparison

So Im about to purchase an exhaust system. Is the Invidia exhaust that much louder than an HKS? Im talking mainly under cruising conditions. What about with the silencer in? Does the HKS have an option for a silencer? Ive heard all the vid/mp3 sound clips online. They sound very similar when there on the throttle. But what about just cruising around town?

I have had the invidia and now I have the HKS Hiper. In my experience, if yuo were to listen to the exhausts from outside the car, they are about the same volume.

But the in cabin volume is much much different. The invidia's drone is pretty bad especially during cruising and accelerating in the low rpms, where there is barely any drone with the HKS.

If you don't drive the car daily the invidia is ok, but for a daily driver the HKS IMO is a better choice. BTW both sound great, but if I were to choose which one sounded better, than I would have to go with the HKS.

The HKS is rather quiet compared to the Invidia which has ear blistering droning mid rpm and while cruising. The HKS is dyno proven to lose a few horsepower and the Invidia gains a few.

there is no comparison....

HKS > Invidia....

HKS has practically no drone on the highway.... only between like 3500-3800rpms.....and it's relatively quiet, like stock (but deeper in sound) till it opens up once you hit vtec....

Invidia is crazy loud, drones like crazy... highway crusing, you'll be droning the whole time....

I had the HKS on my first S and I still say it's the BEST sounding exhaust for the S. Very very Ferrarish, but can you sacrifice the power?

I have the HKS and I have buddies who have Invidias and Espilirs. I like the way mine sounds under normal driving conditions, but if I had to choose which exhaust to have while at the track, I'd go with the invidia.

Just got my HKS installed a few days ago. The droning between 2,950 and 3,200 RPM is really nasty. I can't hear myself think. Is this normal or did they install in wrong? I read somewhere that this droning goes away after a few miles. I hope this is true.

Paul.

I think all aftermarket exhausts drone somewhat (aside from the fuji).

The invidia is definatly loud but I like the exotic exhaust note it creates. It does quiet down the first week or two and you eventually get used to it. It also does come with silencers so during the week you can throw them on for DD and then the weekend you can take them off to listen to the purr of the engine. The silencers really do help from what I have heard...they keep the exhaust under 95db and is much quieter in the cabin.

I don't think I have ever seen a dyno saying the HKS looses power but with so many people saying it, I rather not risk it personally.
