Amuse Dual R1 Titan -- Minus some Bling
The Amuse tips were a little too much bling for me, the newest ones with the blue cans have even more bling. The stock tips on mine were very shiny, almost like they were chromed, and the tips were burnt blue.
I like the finish and natural color of titanium so I decided to roll the dice and try to make the tips match the mufflers. Risky? Sure. But what the heck, it's just an exhaust, right?
First I sanded the tips with 220 grit sandpaper. Once the shine and blue was gone, I went with a Scotchbrite pad until the finish matched the satin finish of the titanium cans. The last step was to apply some stainless steel cleaner/wax that I normally use on my stainless steel Bar-be-que.
The finish ended up an identical match to the natural titanium of the cans, so I'm happy with how it turned out.
