Convertible Top Fix
My top Passenger side convertible top has about 6 hole that I really need to get it fix because my car is loud when driving even with both window up. Does anybody know of a shop that does the top fix and how much would it be?
Thanks..
Thanks..
you can buy a new top for about $750.00 but it's a ton of labor to install it (Billman in NY could help) or you can try to patch it...
a guy who can help you patch it has a shop in Natic call Adolf's convertable top.. been in business for years

Thanks for the help.. I was considering of doing that too but just wanted a quick patch till next spring. Plus I would also need help doing this since I really dont' have a garage plus it'll cost half a grand for the installing. Maybe if someone in NE area is thinking of the doing the conversion next yr. then we alll just get togeather and do it instead of paying for the labor as one person said it's wasn't hard enought for you to bring it to shop just time consuming. Also I'm not really a mechanical kinna guy so doing this from scratch is like trying to read foreign language...lolz..

Hey Vinny, go to the store and buy some of those iron-on patches that mom's use to patch up their kid's clothes. Then just iron the patch on the inside of your top. After the patch is on the inside, go to the auto parts store and get one of those vinyl repair kits. They come with liquid vinyl that you dab into the crack on the outside of your top. Then you put a piece of textured paper over it that matches the pattern on your top and iron the rubber into the top. The heat will harden the rubber up and the textured paper gives it a grain similar to your top. Be careful of the iron. If it is too hot, it will probably damage your top. You might want to test it on an inconspicuous seam inside the car first. I know you are not mechanical, but this doesn't require any mechanical ability. If you don't know how to iron either, maybe your mom can do it for you.
Thanks Bill I try that today but couldn't get the patch to iron due to the tite space which is in the center of the lower bar on the side. Isn't there any other alternate route beside new top or hard top? I really wanted this to be fix since the drive is a very painful to hear them air coming in it though it seem almost as louder then the top being down..
