Since the paint, laquer, or whatever it is on the plastic plate around my shifter has been peeling away, I finally took it of and rubbed it all away. It looks like I have a chrome plate around it now.

What do you think?

I think it looks great. How did you rub it all off, with just your fingers and a lot of time?

OK, the pics are back up since I posted them on my Photopoint site. The S2000 photo album seems to be having problems.

Anyway, I removed the center console by following the instructions on Rick's accessories site for changing the shift boot. I used a light abrasive solution, 3M I think but I will find out for sure from Aaron what he gave me to use, and I just took a cloth towel and wiped the remaining layer away. It was pretty easy and took about an hour to do including the removal and replacement of the center console.

We thought about painting it black but I want to see how it works out like this first.
