Exclamation 4.56 gears, any improvement from a roll?

I'm trying to find out if theres any point of buying the gears with comptech diff if I only do rolling starts. I never launch her. For example say 20-70mph, is it going to be dramaitcally noticable in acceleration compred to the stock?

Also how long does it take for the order to ship out if i want hard top guy to install the gears in a new comptech diff? thanks this wasn;t being answered in any other thread so made a new one!

The biggest improvement will be from a dig, but you'll improve your rolls too. Just think, if you're cruising at X speed just like the other car, and do the 3 honks, you will now be at a higher RPM in your powerband and ready to go. You now will be at a higher RPM whereas before you'd be lower in the powerband at any given speed.

For example say 20-70mph
20 mph in 1st gear is about 4800 - 4900 rpm. This puts you very close to VTEC. With stock gears, you'd be around 4200 - 4300 rpm. You are much closer to VTEC with the "gears". Make you own conclusions.

Mind you, if you were racing me in a car with stock gearing, I'd do a rolling clutch dump and still smoke ya.

oh man looks like I might be going gears! the only thing that qould concern me is the extra shift but if I were to start out rolling in 1st at 30 or so and then run the race up to 90 then the gearing will def help pull is what it seems like.

Comptech is tougher than the 04. Not indestructible by any means, but still tougher.

Not sure why this question got moved to SE. It's more of a general S2K question and one that's usually posted in s2000 talk.

If you did a blind test, "we secretly replaced his FD with a 4.56" would you be able to feel the difference without a doubt? I know you'll see you're having to shift at lower speeds, but if the tach was covered, so you just have to shift by feel, would you say there is a big difference?

I don't want to have my car taken apart unless it's for a good and noticeable improvement.

Thanks.

all you are doing is making the engine run closer to 1:1 with the motor. So yes you will feel it everywere. There is zero question about it at all its night and day. There is actualy a video of this some place on here showing a race from a roll.
