Default Totalled my S

Well story is I was leaving dinner in downtown Pittsburgh Thursday night. I was first car at a red light. I ripped through first and second gear. I got into third and started around a slight right turn. I was going too fast and not paying enough attention. I drifted towards and bumped the wall to my left that divided the narrow highways. There was debris that was pushed towards the walls. I lost traction tried to recorrect. That sent me sliding sideways. The car hooked up and I went straight into the wall on other side of the road at ~60. I had my belt on and airbags went off. The car is totalled. Please note the pictures aren't from the scene but from tow truck yard. I received no ticket. I passed the dui test. My injuries are much less than they could have been. I went to ER. Had a cat scan and neck and back xrays. I had a mild concussion. I bit my tongue pretty bad. My left arm is banged up from the air bag (right hand was on the shifter)..didn't stall btw! that's about it...random bruises and aches. The airbag residue was stuck in my nose for a couple days but went away..that made me very nauseated though. End of story is....insurance is taking care of me..not getting another S anytime soon. Maybe next summer I'll think about a sportscar but I'm going to stick with luxury for now. Lesson learned for me..no doubt about it.

those people can do that if they want...it's sad if that's what goes through their head when they see something like this. I'm just happy to be alive!!!! seriously

We're happy you're here too. Your pics are elsewhere, but was the road wet? You ripped through the first two gears, so what speed did you lose control? Are your tires bald? What happened sucks, but the rest of us can learn from your mistake(s).

Glad you are ok. How come you decided against getting a replacement S? Oh, and how was that juicebox?

the juicebox is my vitamin c for the day and the coffee takes care of the rest!

well...my tires weren't bald but they were less than half life SO2's.

It was not raining at the time but pretty chilly and i had only driven about 1 mile so they were probably cold...that couldn't have help but it wouldn't have mattered.

i haven't received the insurance check yet but i'm led to believe it's going to be real close to retail on nada which is 26000. my company 'american commerce' is really good about payouts. not worried about it.
