Default Googlesyndication.com

OK, when I got on S2ki today i noticed that I would have to click "back" 3 times to get out of a thread. I have also noticed adds appearing at the top and bottom of each thread. In my history, I see " http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/" After looking this up, I found this..

"Google is now serving ads for other Web sites. These Google ads typically
> appear as text links on a Web page for products related to the content of
> the page. Google has created a new domain, googlesyndication.com, for
> serving these text link ads inside of IFRAMEs. Google is attempting to set
> a cookie for this domain, but in my experiments, they are using the standard
> google.com domain name in the Set-Cookie HTTP response header. I believe
> this is a bug."

What gives?

(If this needs to be in the Comp thread, mods please move... sorry bout that!)

Your browser is messed up. Go to Tool > Internet Options and clear your browser cache.

I'm getting this as well, its only on s2ki that I have to click the back button 3 times.

Where the google adds usually are, there is some sort of I dunno broken link crap.

Here we go, back, back, back.

Google stock was near $400 / share yesterday IIRC.

$403. Where does it all end?

What browser? Why is there no sponsor banner? I'm going to assume you are using IE on windows. I'll need to look at that more closely but I haven't seen either of these problems on Firefox or Safari on the Mac. What firewall are you using? I'm going to guess that if your browser isn't messed up your firewall is.

My browser is window IE, firewall is Norton, I haven't changed no settings, mainly as I haven't got a clue where to find them or how to do it.

Banners have been showing up before, but the last 3 or 4 days they haven't since this 3 back clicks problem.

I'm clueless on whats happened.

Without sounding like I'm dogging the problem I honestly think the problem is firewall/adblocker related. It would be interesting to know if the other having this problem are also using Norton firewall. It's possible that Norton was auto updated and rules were added or changed that are adversely affecting s2ki.

I just checked the site with IE + Zone Alarm and it worked as expected without the problems you are reporting. Try disabling Norton temporarily and see if that makes a difference. If it does then we know that's where the problem lies. I will do some searching about newly reported issues.

Another thing you can try is going to some sites that have similar ads for example:

http://forums.clubsi.com

Do you see something similar happening there?

Let me know.
