Default Intercooler Water Spray

Some time ago I posted about a spray bar system for my intercooler. Aus Ss have headlight washers that we generally disconnect after the first time we inadvertantly give ourselves a cold shower. It uses the windshield washer reservoir and it's own pump and plumbing. I've connected mine to some irrigation hose with four misters lined up to spray on my intercooler.

I also installed some CF ducts whilst I had the front bar off.

I'll get some more pics once I have it wired up. The switch on 00-01 S2000s was in the centre console (where USDM S2000s have the coin slot) and people often press it getting into the car. I removed it and installed the coin slot. Later models have it mounted in one of the blanks on the dash (across from your Cruise button) and that is where mine will be wired. I'll also have it triggered by the AEM EMS at WOT.

Looks good! How fast do you think the water will get used up?

Could be fun following a trail of bubbles ......

Does anyone know how susceptible the intercooler will be to scaling after a period of time (from hard water), probably need to go look at a Scooby to check ....

Nice! I'd like to see the finished product. Maybe I'll get this done too!

Not very fast.
For this to be effective the nozzle should only spray a mist onto the IC. Water mist vapourise quicker than water squirt. So the rate of water consumptoin is minimal.

I have this setup on my s2k. I rarely use it now after I was asked to get off the waiting line at a drag strip to clean up the water on the front spoiler. A water injection into the engine is much more effective. For the aem ems users, you should get a kit from derek. You can control the water injection well with the ems.

I was going to do something similar to this for my SC using the aquamist water injection system. Probably much more useful for turbo though.

If I had the Aquamist set up I'd be using it for water injection rather than IC spray.
