Default MY00 vs road-raged man in Volvo w/coffee

on my way to the New York Giants vs. Kansas City Chiefs game yesterday, i encountered a mid 40's man in a Volvo station wagon (newer model). he was stopped in the middle of the road, with the cars in front of him already gone, and cars behind us ready to go. thinking that he's making a left (why hes paused), i slowly inch around him. next thing i know hes matching my acceleration, staying right next to me, trying to beat me to the next traffic light. we get to the light (side by side in one lane, not legal) and he says "dont be an asshole! its not two lanes!" me and my brother replied, "we thought you were making a left, so we passed." he replies with "dont be an asshole!!" so we were like "ok, nice station wagon..." and started driving away. he paces us again and as we're coming to another light im flipping the bird, but not looking at him (dont wanna argue anymore). next thing i know, a huge cup of coffee is hurled into the S2000 by that guy. coffee everywhere, inside and out of the S, and on my Shockey jersey. we get his license plate and talk to the cops, the whole deal. cop says he cant do anything because i 'passed him on the right' which is illegal. it sucked - it took us an extra 45 mins to get to the game because of this asshole. just venting...

ps - i know i provoked him by passing, and saying "nice station wagon" but still, i wasnt trying to piss him off by just going around him!

edit: cop said he was gonna call the guy and say something, but i doubt it...

That calls for an ass-beating!!! Find him on one of the Volvo forum's and give him an e-bitchslap. Did your interior clean up ok? You've got a police report, liscense, and witness. Claim some damage and make a claim or something.

i knew i shouldve done something. my brother talked me out of it when he mentioned how my probation just ended this summer. i thought to myself "alright, ill let the cops handle it" then when we found out the cop couldnt do anything, i was like "WTF, i couldve beaten the shit out of this guy and gotten more satisfaction." i keep a nice 3 1/2 ft wooden club in the trunk of my S too, with a tassle on it for grip (you know the kind). that wouldve been fun.

cop said i couldnt get him a ticket without getting one myself. (cop really didnt care about the whole incident). im about to get his license plate # from the call we made right after it happened, then do a little 'tag lookup' and find his residence.
Fix him some eggs for breakfast and leave them all over his windows... then leave the coffee cup he threw at you on his doorstep with some fresh coffee in it.
