Default Iam having traction control put on my S

as the title says.

Couple of points before you all have a go about me.

1.This is going to be driven as a everyday car.

2.This is my wifes car. (no rear wheel drive experience)

3.Does this not make the car faster and safer?

ok.

This is going to have the Racelogic traction control fitted, Which can be 100% turned off.

so before, all of you go off on one, I want to make this car safe(anyone have a prob)

The people on here that have had a crash, do you think traction control would of helped,It steps in at 5mph-40mph. (You can set up it when it steps in)

Your thoughts please.

Does this make me a toss.....er or someone that cares for his wife/car

Lets face it, tc is a safety feature which at this time of year, with wet and icy roads can only be a good thing. As you say, when the weather improves and you want some fun, you can turn it off. Sounds like a good move to me.

If she has no experience of a RWD car, and you need to put TC on, I'd suggest it is the wrong car for her.

Why not a less powerful RWD to start off (MX5 or MR2) ?

Don't think think TC makes you look a tosser ) It does make me wonder whether this is the right car for your girlfriend though. If you really want her to be safe then go for something which she'll be able to handle without you (or her) worrying.

I'm also a bit suprised you're opting for this before you've both got used to it. I was quite worried when I got mine having heard all the damp road/roundabouts. A couple of months of ownership and I haven't had any probs - just have to take it easier in the winter. Why not see how she gets on and fit at a later date?

a few of us have looked into this and ive spoken to a few vx220owners who highly recommend it. there`s also a possible GB. DMB and myself are only possibles and i think durzel is more of a definite.

whatever you do dont take it to regal motorsport in Southampton. i spoke to the boss, Chris and he was complete knob end.right cheeky ****er!and he didnt know what an s was! he obviously wouldnt dealing with the exotic brands such as vauxhall and renualt.

No, I can't sit and watch this any longer.

Come on Ian, root him out. This is a wind up.

Ya canny change the lawa of physics!

Its a great product but if you go into a bend too fast nothing will help you. If you try and floor it out, then it will help.

If your wife has a heavy foot it might be good, but ive found this car will only bite you if you really push it.

I think I might need it if I carry on with my current project but dont think its overly useful for a N/A S2000.

People talk about it being 240 bhp and how its a lot of power etc, but thats at the redline. At normal revs its not got a lot of power / torque at all so T/C may be overkill.

Bet its great on track though.

Beat me to it.

Both sound like better cars for her. Is she really going for the looks or performance of the S? If its just the looks then she probably won't be driving at the limit anyway.
