Default rick's short shifter

Hi all:After making a firm commitment not to buy any stuff for the car this winter
cause i went out and got a American Fender stratocaster and a Marshall AMP .I bought ricks short shifter and installed it with nate 03 as i just feel better when there is another set of eyes other than mine watching .
Welll all went well i really love the shifter and it reallly does improve something i thought could not be improved . But buyer beware there seems to be a noise comming from this new shifter in several gears . Three have been long threads regardind a solution and that it is on the way. It seems Richard the guy who designed it is very commited to getting this fixed.
Now i know some of us metro people have mountain biking backgrounds.I did alot of long downhill stuff with the who broke me in up at Hunter .With the downhill comes extream viberation from the wheel even with a rock shock it traveles up the fork to the handle bars and to your hands leading to some very tired arms .To cancel the viberation we would take old inner tubes and wrap the handle bars tight and it made a difference in the viberation .
Well low and behold that is what i did the other day took off the center console
disconnected the top and emergency button and got a old inner tube cut it and wraped it in two seperate sections on the shifter used zip ties to lock it down ,reconnected the electrical connections and and was about to test it out but i had the top opened just a bit to add light and now it won't close .I recheck the two connections and still no f in power so i close the top by hand it was only open a 2 inches to let in light and gave it a test drive no more noise .But No more power top .So i check it again and all looked well .So i did what any good metro member does i call Bill .
Of course he said come out next week but he also advised "how can you f that up "well i did" .So i could not sleep this morning with this in my head went to the car opened it up again and the two connections were fine but there is a white connection to the e brake not connected which was a the problem .So now all is well but just haveing a guy like bill sure makes things alot easier .And if i went out there and he fixed it in 2 seconds i would really feel stupid .So there is a solution
to the noise problem. So if any of my metro brothers /sisters have this problem i'd be glad to help .But have bill's number ready just in case i do something else stupid .
MISS YOU ALL ALOT

After reviewing the installation instructions, this does not look like a short throw shifter like the C's. It looks like nothing but a "shortened" shifter, which I can make for 40 bucks. Can anyone confirm this?

This thing is nothing at all like the C's. The C's has a raised fulcrum point, which makes it a true short throw shifter. I knew it would be noisy from the moment I laid eyes on the pic, as I have experimented with solid shfters in the s2k and they made alot of noise and vibration.

Anybody who want's one I will make it for you for 40 bucks. Just know that it will make noise, and cause hand fatigue if you drive with your hand on the shifter.

LOL funny isn't it? Remember awhile ago, I told you about the idea to copy the C's? The main problem was trying to figure out how to get rid of the vibration if we didn't copy rubber damper in the shifter. In the original thread posted by Richard Paul, I asked if vibration was going to be an issue with his design. He responded by saying that he was going to tune it out. Guess that didn't work
