OK, so a recent post I just made sparked me to make this thread. The only problem is that unless the materials, bends, thickness at the bends, etc. is known, there isn't any way to tell EXACTLY how much softer or stiffer they are than stock without the designer testing it or doing some hard math. So use the numbers only as a guideline. When available from manufacturer, I have listed how much of a difference in percent compared to stock. Here you go:

Early AP1 ('00-'01):
F: 28.2x5.0mm (P/N: 51300-S2A-003)
R: 27.2x5.3mm (P/N: 52300-S2A-013)

Late AP1 ('02-'03):
F: 26.5x4.5mm (P/N: 51300-S2A-013)
R: 27.2x4.5mm (P/N: 52300-S2A-J01)

Early AP2 ('04-'07):
F: 26.5x4.5mm (P/N: 51300-S2A-023 & -033)
R: 25.4x4.5mm (P/N: 52300-S2A-J02)

Late AP2 ('08-'09)
F: 27.2x5.3mm (P/N: 51300-S2A-S01)
R: 25.4x4.5mm (P/N: 52300-S2A-J02)

CR ('08-'09)
F: 28.6x4.5mm (P/N: 51300-S2A-S11) *same effective stiffness as early AP1 bar, but lighter weight
R: 26.5x4.5mm (P/N: 52300-S2A-S01)

Gendron NOT Grendon

 

The Gendron bar is a splined bar, 1.25" o.d.
It has blade type arms with six adjustment positions.
3 bar sconfigurations available:
1. solid
2. .25" wall thickness
3. .188" wall thickness

The Gendron has several variables to determine stiffness, endlink position and what center bar is used.

Does anyone know why Mugen discontinued the larger bar and replaced it with the new one?

 

It looks like the Mugen and ASM sizes are the same (assuming they're solid bars). Since ASM and Mugen work closely together, I wouldn't be suprised if they were identical. Hell, the ASM bars are probably repainted Mugen bars. It wouldn't be the first time ASM called something their own. The Cusco catch tank looks very close to the ASM street catch tank. Just a black bracket.
