Default How many hours will a dealer charge for a tranny?

How many hours will a dealer charge for a tranny swap. Going from an Ap1 Tranny to an Ap2 Tranny? (by text book)

IIRC, book time is around 6.5 hrs paid to the tech. I would cap it at 8hrs.

They may add .5 to swap the rear flange. That's the ONLY difference in swapping the two units. All else is identical.

Come out to me for 375

I love my AP2 trans....First gear is noticeably lower, through 5th gear, where it is slightly lower.

6th gear is taller, dropping your rpm a couple hundred. Plus it shifts dam nice.

There was a thread on the flanges etc. Would you happen to know where that thread is, with the pictures?

How would dealers make the bolts fit? Cost for the new flange or do you alter the flange?

BC, it says in your profile that you have an '06. I take it you still have an AP1 also?

It would seem this mod is slowly getting more press and is coming to light. In my mind, I consider an AP1 car with an AP2 tranny and 4.44 FD gears to be almost the perfect combination. This effectively gives you the equivalent of about a 4.6 FD ratio in the first 4 gears, while still giving you a slight decrease in highway cruising rpm compared to running 4.44 gears alone.

An stock AP2 is more like an AP1 with 4.3 FD (in the first 4 gears). So an AP1 with 4.44s will still have a wee bit more grunt, but through all 6 gears.
