I saw this on the local news. I'm not sure it has not been posted previously.

Many people are tired of talking to computers or going through a maze of automated systems to reach customer service.

This guy has listed his "cheat sheet" to reach a human at various companies.

Here's his list:

that it is VERY frustrating to get caught in the loop of an automated call attendant system.

IMHO, they should be designed to connect you to a human by the third prompt. I have been in some systems where you get caught in a loop and it never gives you the option of dial zero to get to an operator. I HATE THAT.

I sometimes find if I punch enough random numbers the system gives up and connects me to a person.

The worst thing is when you finally do get a human, they put you on hold, for EVER! On my way back to Ohio last July, I had to call MBNA two nights, to get them to let my reservation on the cancelled VISA I left in Texas, go through. I got a human and then waited over 30 minutes for them to take care of me.

When you call for Dell customercare even when you get a human you cannot understand anything they say to you and they cannot understand anything you say to them, then when you've chatted long enough to be able to reasonably understand each other, you lose the connection.

My BIGGEST "Ticker-Off-er" is when you connect to number it says: "If you want English, press 1" My God, I SPEAK English English should be the default language... let the non-English-speakers choose #1!!!
IMHO, Helen
