Default Wife wanting to Drive

Ok, so my wife is already asking to drive my S in the spring. Here's the thing, last time she drove it while I was the passenger, she totally scraped the front end while taking a left turn with a slight incline. It made me cringe, but she didn't seem to notice. Anyhow how do I approach this? She thinks that she'll just take the S whenever she feels like it. I know I have sometime, but she's already talking about it.

Josh,

Though Rick takes pride in the "S" he does have the attitude that "it's just a car." I was very glad he had that attitude when I crunched the spoiler. He "curbed" a wheel early on, so what could he say. #S##T happens.

It's a fun car to drive so I'm sure your wife just wants to enjoy it now and again.

I would guess some of the guys have a hard time letting anyone drive their baby. Give her a shot at it.

A happy wife = a happy life.

Just a car?!?!?!

J/K. Yeah, it's just a car. However, I don't let anyone drive my car. Luckily, my girlfriend has no idea how to drive a manual transmission. So, she's never even asked. Plus, she knows she would bang up my car because she's not the best driver in the world and then I would get upset. Not at her mind you, but rather just that my car was banged up.

I think your wife should be more understanding that you're not comfortable with her driving the S. She may get upset if you ask her not to drive it, but IMO that's better than cringing in the corner every time she takes it out. It's really a no win situation. Personally, I'd rather not learn to live with a scraped up car. Hopefully, she knows you well enough and cares about your mental well being enough to be understanding about the whole situation.

Tell her if she scrapes it again, she owes you a S/C. Win-win situation.

I've never had a problem with my wife driving the car, it even comes in handy if I've been celebrating too hard. Oh, she is a good driver and has been driving stick shift for 30 yrs.
