I am definitely going. Even if it is "wet-weather handling" oriented it will be worth it.

I bought a damm 5 gallon gas can for it - now I can't figure out how to get the gas from the can into the car!

See you tomorrow.

I know I wont be running tomorrow, but I might go and check out the wet conditions on this track and see how the instructors handle students in the rain. Probably after lunch hour .......

Have a good time!

I would also love to go just to check out the action. I don't think I'm ready to take this car to the track just yet . Well I hope the weather stays fairly dry and comfortable for you EJ and good luck tomorrow.

Hey Mike, let me know if your going tomorrow. I would like to drive up w/ you if possible.

Just bought the helmet (Bell M2), Simpson low-cut driving shoes, and 5 gallon gas jug. I AM SUCH A LOSER!!!! What a wannabe, my god!

But, I am still excited. Should be leaving tomorrow around 6:15 to get there for technical inspection. I'm extremely nervous about doing any damage to the car - even minor scratches annoy me - but, I'd better get over it because I think its more important to know how to drive.

Hope to see you guys there tomorrow, it would be great.

EJ

Argh! Couldn't decide on time. The weather says one thing about showers, but the radar looks all clear and temp will almost hit 70 degrees!
It will probably be fine.

Unfortunately I can not attend tomorrow. Have fun and be safe.

If it rains, pit often and keep your distance.

Hiroprotaganist:

So how did it go? Seems the weather held out and no rain. In Bethesda it was cloudy the whole day, maybe a very slight drizzle at one point.

I kept looking outside my office and wishing I took the day off to go to Summit

Oh well, next year ...

Hope you had fun.

Mike and I drove up to SP yesterday to meet up with EJ and to check out the action. The weather was rather damp and cloudy in the mornigng but as soon as we drove into WV the sun came out and the day seemed to have taken a turn for the better. As to not steal EJ's thunder (I'm sure EJ will post soon about his experience at the track), I'll just say that watching from the sidelines gave me a big adrenaline rush. I am definately hooked and will sign up with you guys next spring.

Thanks Mike for driving up with me and waiting for me at 340 , I swear the sign said 270 go right. Also thanks EJ for the short cut through RT 28 it saved me from sitting in the 495/270 mess all evening.

ah come on and spoil EJ's thunder....tell tell.... Summit is a fun place. The instructors sign off just about anyone after about 2 sessions though (me included).
