I had read about this mod and was going to spugen today for a tranny/diff fluid change and decided to have the resonator cut out. Awesome. It is no louder at idle or cruising, but when accelerating, it introduces a totally different tone to the exhaust. I have read on this board that this is how the exhaust should have come from the factory and now I believe it.
By the way, anyone need a resonator? I'll let it go cheap, or possible trade for a set of MF10s.

Had Spugen do mine a couple months back... no more than an hour of work, and they charged me next to nothing. It sounds SO much better with the top down now.
Plus, I hear you get like .2hp

Two questions, is this mod considered illegal like it might fail at smog? second whats it sound like? In my head I picture it sounds like the Mugen exhaust for some reason.
The sound really can't be compared to any aftermarket exhaust. It's no louder than stock unless you're WOT or engine braking. It's no subsitution for a good aftermarket system, but for those of us who only want to spend around $50, it's great.

They charged me $40, and it took around 30 minutes for them to do. The difference in the exhaust note is hard to describe. Almost like a more metallic sound has been added to the existing exhaust note. I like it...I like it alot.
