Default New Bulletin 00-054 (Clutch)

I had stopped into my dealership to see if they had the '02 yet. They didn't, but in talking with the service department we got onto the subject of the noisy clutch. I hadn't worried about it because of all the posts saying that even after the clutch was replaced, it still made the noise.

There may still be hope! I think this is a new service bulletin. It's dated 11/27/2001.
---
Buzzing From the Engine or Transmission While Decelerating
(Supersedes 00-054, dated March 20,2001)

...The clutch disc listed in this service bulletin is an improved version of the coutermeasured disc released a year ago. Extensive testing has shown it to be quieter than any previous S2000 clutch discs.

If your customer had the previous clutch disc installed but still complains of deceleration noise, install the clutch disc listed in the service bulletin.

...Corrective action - Replace the clutch disc with the improved clutch disc.

...Parts Information - Clutch Disc: P/N 22200-PCX-055, H/C 6855126

Oooh! Oooh! Always good to bring up "old" topics when you have ever-new owners out there!!! Mine does that rattle! Damn spanky! I read the linked scanned notice and that's *exactly* what I hear...& I too shot the car up a service jack to see if I had a loose heatshield or something. Everything was tight as a tick's ass... Soooooo, muchas gracias! I guess I'll need to get with Honda on this...

That is a good question maybe Woodwork can clarify this. I am thinking we should be able to get it under warranty since it is an updated part.
