Default jvc kd-avx2 will it fit?

Does anyone have this installed? I've seen posts for the jvc kd-avx1 and seen that some people had no problems with the door and some have had problems with the door. Anyways, I'm not sure how this one sits in comparison to the older model and i know the angles are different in comparison to the older model as well. Anyways, just wondering if this will fit enough for the door to close and if the angles available are viewable.

I know the older version fit. Almost 100% sure this one will. Buy it from somewhere with a decent return policy.

The old one fit, but it wasn't easy. you'll have to do some work to get it in. And you'll either have to mod the sub-dash (there's a little bar of plastic above the radio that you need to cut out) or shave the inside of the radio door.

I've done two (AVX1's) and both times I cut the bar out.

After that it's a matter of fit it all together, check alignment, take it apart and refit. It's a 3-demensional problem, as far as fitting. You have to have the right depth, right up/down tilt and make sure it's not being pulled to the left or right.

Also, make sure you pull all of the cables out of the way. I zip-tied all of the cables into two bundles, one for RCA's, one for regular wires. RCA's were taken to the pass. side, others to the driverside. This gets them out of the way and gives you much needed space for getting the radio in. It also makes it much easier to get to the RCA jacks later without removing the radio.

Good to know, I know I have a hell of a time getting all my wiring back in right now with an Alpine.

Hows the sound quality on this unit, its going to be the center piece of a nice a/v setup?

Have you installed the AVX2 at all? I'm curious as to if the AVX1 and the AVX2 have the same demensions. It looks like the AVX2 faceplate sticks out farther than the AVX1. Been trying to find dimensions online but can't find them. Anyways, let me know if anyone knows about this. I know this just came out recently, so many people don't have it but any info would be helpful thanks
