Anybody up for some food and a drive in late-April? Someone mentioned something about the last Friday in April being good...takers?

 

Count me in if it is on a Saturday and not the 21st-22rd. I will be at Wake The Dragon. You should check out the Fresh Water Tour. It is in your "back yard" this year.

 

I'm up for it, we can arrange it for Friday, April 28th. Does that work for you, Erich? I had a few quick things come to mind; what are your ideas?

I was thinking more along the lines of a cruise around the inner-city lakes such as Calhoun and Isles near Uptown.

 

The weekend of the 28th looks like a go for me.

 

Could start at "the View" (used to be Dixie's) in the Calhoun Beach Club, the parking is cheap, then out around Calhoun and parts beyond. Somebody else has to lead since I'm more of an East Side guy.

The 28th works great, after work. If the weather sucks we can reschedule (maybe Sat as an alternate?).

 

Yeah Sat could be an alternate. What time on Fri works for everyone? I was thinking 6pm we could meet somewhere for dinner and head out from there. There are plenty of places in Uptown from cheap/fast to nicer/sit-down. I'm a big fan of the Chipotle right next to Lake Calhoun since they have a decent parking lot and outdoor patio seating. As for the driving, we could make the loop around Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles, and from there maybe head up towards the Taylor's Falls area along the river. This will be heading north along the river from the Cities unlike FWT06 where we will be heading south. Oh, another quick idea, we could have dinner at a drive-in in a small town somewhere along the river.

 

Either or - I have no preference. 6pm works for me. We could also start out in Uptown, cruise the lakes, drive out to Stillwater, eat there, then on up north to Taylor's Falls on either WI-35 or MN-95. It'll be dark after not too long, though...
