I'll be in Japan for a weekend on vacation..
To start off my name is Joe I'm 25 and I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This May I'm going on vacation with some friends to the Philippines for a month and on my way back in June I'm going to stop in Japan for a weekend (June 9th-12th) by myself. I'm planing on going to a track or two to watch some racing, I'm also planning on going sight seeing for a day or so.If anyone could help me out with any info on car meets, track events, food spots, or just any tips or suggestions on anything to do while I'm there it would be GREATLY appreciated. Unfortunately I don't speak Japanese so I'll be that dork with the lil book mispronouncing everything.
My flight gets to Tokyo around noon on thursday and it leaves on monday at 3pm so I have a few days to go to different places. I'm lookin forward hearing from ya'll!
Thanks!
Pick up the exellent Lonely Planet Japan guide or Tokyo guide for tourist/food/sites stuff.
You got Autobacs, Crystal, tuners TopSecret, Type One, Mugen, Feels etc, are probaly the easiest to get to.
Twin Ring Motegi is an option. Visit the Honda Collection Hall.
Most tracks, tuners etc is pretty hard to get to if you don`t have "wheels".

Thanks guys for the help, I'm going to go up to the Twin Ring Motegi to catch the "2006 All Japan Gymkhana Championship Round 4" and to check out the Honda Collection Hall. Also those sights were a big help on finding hotels. Thanks again!
