A friend of mine received a considerable amount of goodies from japan including Spoon rotors.
Upon installation we noticed that the left front and right front are identical, which makes the "curve" of the middle vents different from a rotation perspective.
Here is the explanation.

Should the left and right rotor have different vent curve direction or is this normal ?
I would think that the real spoon rotors would have the vanes going the right way
Seems like those are just knock offs or they gave you 2 left sided rotors
The vanes are supposed to lean towards the back of the car so that air goes in through the center and exits out of the circumference of the rotor as the car is moving. If they are reversed, the rotor will get hotter than normal.
1. This is a common manufacturing technique to reduce rotor cost. Spoon is not immune. This issue was discussed a few years ago and it was determined that only one rotor style was manufactured for Spoon.
2. If you're worried about rotors getting hot, do not use cross-drilled designs. They have less mass and will heat up more than OEM-style rotors under severe braking.
3. I inspected a Spoon rotor equipped S2000 after only two days at the track and cracks had started forming around every cross-drilled hole. Even though the Spoon rotor has the holes cast instead of drilled, the cracks formed.
Those front Spoon rotors are the same for left /right.
I noticed the same.
For street use they work well for me and look and make a nice whizzing sound when braking
Your friend also has the Spoon pads I see
Did he use all of the shims?
I only could get one in at the front, one at the piston side.
