Default leakdown test numbers on a 45k mile f20c? *updated

Nominal leakdown test numbers for a f20c with 45k?


My compression is 216, 216, 216, 214. Those numbers are 20 points lower than my old numbers i had before i sucked some water up.

I believe all motors are different, as long as they are close its all good. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

sorry i posted wrong,

im ok witht he compression numbers that the dealer got, but tomorrow they are going to do a leakdown test

should the leakdown percentage not exceed 4% for a motor with 45k

5% or less is considered very good for a street engine. 10% is when you need to start looking where the leakage is from.

When you do the leak down test make sure you didnt wash the cylinder walls with fuel. (when you do a cranking test and dont disable the fuel, it would wash the oil off the cylinder walls, and may or may not show you a leak that wouldnt be there with the oil on the rings).

You do a leak down test with the key off, after the engine has been running at operating temp. Then you rotate the crankshaft by hand with a ratchet, once you get the tester hooked up to each cylinder.

You don't spin the starter over for a leak down test like a Compression check.

Good point, but many of times I have seen people do a leakdown test right after a compression test. So I thought I would share mistakes I have seen made. Just trying to help.

im pretty sure my compression numbers are down a bit v=because of flooding the engine with fuel whem it didnt urn over. If i add a few drops of oil to the cylinder, will it help lubricate them better?. if the test is over 5 percent im just going to have thrm tear it down. when i firt got the s back in june of 05, it had leakdown numbers of 2 percent

bwahahahah 10 to 15 percent leakdown in every cylinder, on a 45 k motor and there trying to tell me thats good

wow. morons. 10-15% leak on EVERY CYLINDER is NOT "good" in any way, shape, or form. what asshats. i hope you told them to shove it. even the helm's manual or honda manual tells them those numbers mean something is wrong.
