Having a Rough Time Starting Up in Morning!?
Just recently my 05 S2k was having a rough time starting up in the morning time this past week. It would feel like it was going to stall then fired on. I'd then shut it off immediately after it fired up and turn it over again and would start just fine. WTF. So I was going to bring it in the dealership to get it looked at but then my buddy at work asked randomly if I was having problems starting it in the morning. He told me its because now their using 10% ethanol in 93 octane to cheaply boost octane and with high compression cars it has this effect. Which sux paying more then ever for gas and now its even cheaper quality so you guys will start seeing a sticker on the pumps saying this.

It's got nothing to do with having 10% ethanol in your gas. I routinely use this fuel in winter as it's a natural gasline antifreeze. It runs no different with the ethanol than it does without.

We have had the 10% ethanol gas in wisconsin for several years already at least. I have ZERO problems starting my car up. 10% Ethanol gas is not causing your problem.
Also, they're not using ethanol because it's "cheaper", they're using it because it's more environmentally safe and less health/toxic problems than MTBE.

Why would you do this? If it starts, leave it alone and let it stabilize the idle. It could be just an intermittent slow learning process, which you are confusing the heck out of the ECU by shutting it down and doing a restart. Just let it be if it starts. I think that after a few morning episodes, the ECU will learn and do it right. If you keep "playing" with it, it may take forever to learn.

The OP doesn't have a location indicated in his profile. I'm just wondering what the climate has been doing lately? --- Changes in ambient temp, barometric pressure, humidity?
We seem to have other incidence of this "ethanol" theory:

I have to agree, the only thing that the ethanol will do is reduce your fuel mileage as it does not pack as much energy as gasoline. Hmm, I would imagine it may give you a commensurate drop in power as well but it should not cause idle issues.
