Default Why won't Pre '06 Seats fit in an '06

Ok, so I am ready to get an '06, but prefer the '00 - '05 seats.. I have heard that they will not fit, due to an airbag sensor, or something like that..

Can anyone verify? or if it is even possible to fit the seats?

The driver's side will fit, it is the passenger's side that will not. They changed the floor pan of the car to only allow the new seat to fit. You know, add a bump here. The reason is that they added a weight sensor to the passenger's seat to turn on/off the passenger's air bag. It is a saftey feature.

Anything is possible, you are only limited by your walet.

I also believe their is a position sensor on the drivers seat that adjusts the airbag deployment force. Although not as big of a hurdle as the passenger weight sensor.

It seems like you could fabricate something to get the passenger seat in - maybe raise it slightly?

The seats in my 06 are more supportive and less slippery than my AP1's.

i dont really know how the seats are attached, but most aftermarket seats use rails/frames and ours are made by recaro arent they? so couldnt you technically swap the seats only leaving the 06 rails and 05 rails in their original cars?
