Default Key Sensor

It's that beeping sound when the door is open and the key is still in the ignition. Sometimes, after I take the key out, it would still beep. Then I'd have to stick the key back in, turn it and then take it back out.

Any idea what is going on?

I started a thread about this about a year ago in the "Tell Honda" section:

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=306946

Post in this thread and I'll add your name to the list.

Seems to be an issue with the 2005 and 2006 model year. Not too many people reported it for 2004 for some reason. Mine started to happen when I had about 6k miles on the car. I have 20k miles now and it appears that the problem went away on its own.

Sounds like the ignition is not fully going into the key release position and car still thinks key is in ignition. I know it happens on vehicles as they get older. The lock gets a little looser and it sometimes reads like the keys still in.

If it really bothers you, I would suggest taking your car into the dealership to have it fixed under warranty. Some people have reported that they need to replace the ignition key lock. For me, my car doesn't do the beeping thing all the time so its kinda hard for me to demonstrate the problem to the dealership.

It doesn't do it all the time so I don't know how I would demonstrate it to the dealership too. It's just annoying when it does happen but thats maybe like once every two days or so.

Thats the reason why I'm starting a list of people who have experienced this problem. With enough people reporting the problem and documenting it, maybe a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) will be issued for it.
