Sep Arkansas Trip
A few have been in another thread planning an S2000 weekend in Arkansas. Any takers for the weekend of 8 Sep. May drive up to Clarksville Friday night, and spend Saturday wandering around Northern Arkansas and maybe Southern Missouri. Drive back Sunday afternoon.
Plans very sketchy right now, but we have time to pull more details together.

its about 8 hours from dallas to my old house in eureka springs. (taking the pig trail and the other roads through the boston mountains.)
put me down as a yes. there are a ton of killer roads up there. i was planning on heading up for a mountain biking trip anyway.

Just did a quick trip plan on streets and trips. Arlington to Clarksville is about 350 miles each way. I have planned a route that is 306 miles from and returning to Clarksville, with lunch in Mt View at Woods Pharmacy (nice stop about noon). Great back roads, in excellent shape, with hills, twisties, and sweepers.
Go up Friday, make route Saturday, return Sunday. Or, could go up Sat, route Sunday, return Monday.
Any interest, just post so we can get a count.
Hampton Inn in Clarksville is nice place to stay, and very accomodating to groups.

all the fun roads are north on the pig trail and the other roads that twist through the boston and ozark mountains north to eureka springs and fayetteville. also, highway 71 (which is what I-540 replaced going south from fayetteville) is LOADS 'o fun also. but you do get the neato tunnel on 540.
ill see what routes i can cook up...

There are just an infinite number of routes. I don't care. If Downhill wants to plan it, that's fine with me. Have lots of routes we run up there on the Wings, or sport bikes.
But, there just aren't any bad ones.
I'll let Downhill work up some routes, and then we decide where to stay Friday and Saturday nights.
Don't necessarily need to be same location for both nights. We have stayed in Clarksville Friday nights, and then other places, such as Jasper Saturday night.
Downhill, over to you.
Thanks

i wasn't meaning to say that that direction is no good, sorry if i came across like that.
i only really know the northwest corner. probably the easiest loop to start brainstorming with would be spending the night somewhere near fort smith friday night, then 71 north to eureka and play on the roads around there; spend the night there, then head back on the pig trail towards 40. right in that clarksville area is mt. nebo state park where there are switchbacks all the way up the mountain for a few miles....you can't really enjoy it though, because its like rocky mountain style switchbacks, but there are some cool views from the top.
any other ideas?
