I've seen several s2000's on this forum with painted or powdercoated stock wheels (gloss black and black chrome) and i think they look good and it's cheaper than buying new wheels but my friends say that it's kinda ghetto to do that.

what is the general opinion about coloring the stock wheels? should i just save the money i would spend on P/C and put it towards volks? i would like to change the look of my car but i don't want to be seen as a cheapskate or ghetto. thanks in advance for your opinions.

 

I'm powdercoating my ap2 wheels once I find a place to do it in GA for a decent price.

My ap1s are painted right now. Most people ask what kind of wheels they are, lol.

 

I only like painted/powdercoated AP1 wheels if they are done in black, on a black car and the center caps are painted as well. Hope that helps.

my car is gpw and i was considering gloss black. black chrome looks good to me too

 

There's nothing "ghetto" about it! I personally want to get mine done gold or bronze! Should look sick on my Berlina S! I want to leave the center cap silver though. I want to keep the H emblem on there!

Heck of a lot cheaper than aftermarket wheels and tires...

 

Look around for WLaurent's wheels. They're my stock AP2's that he powdercoated an awesome gunmetal color. They look amazing on his berlina.

I'm having mine powdercoated black or gunmetal this weekend for my GPW.

 

Can someone post some pictures of what this looks like. I've never even considered this. I would like to see what it looks like.
