UMW Job seekers...read this!
I'm announcing this to all the UMW, but focusing more on Chicago crowd.
If there are any of you looking for work in the financial, insurance, customer service (call center), information technology, project management, business administration, printing, marketing, legal, distribution, or automotive repair industries, please read on.
I've helped a handful of people in the UMW find jobs and/or internships at Allstate in the past 5 years I've been an employee with the company. I've networked myself well within the different business units and have gotten to work with many key V.P.'s and with a Corporate Officer.
However, I am now moving on very soon. With that, if there are any of you that are interested in getting an internship, finding an entry-level job, or even wanting to try something different with a new company, please let me know. I will do my best to get your resume in front of the right business group, and it's functional managers. I may even be able to help you skip the initial entry-interview with the corporate HR people.
In anycase, Allstate hires at all levels, with a college degree or not. If you happen to be outside of the Chicago-area, I still may be able to help. Allstate has corporate offices everywhere, it's just no guarantee that I can offer any "connections".
PM me, or respond here if you're interested.

i know of 2 positions open in the air export department of an intl transpotation company as well. PM / email me for more info and references.
the job is located off of Irving Park in Bensenville. 1 is a manager position, the other is a operations level position.

Guys....I am hounded with PM's from you guys. Keep 'em coming, I'll make sure that I answer each one of them tonight.
As for resumes, I'll have you guys send them to me at my work email....the fancy paper thing doesn't hold any weight (in fact, they can't be text searched like a soft-format copy could).
Also, for those asking about splitting a referral fee (as direct as some of you were), I'd be more than glad to share any referral fees I get with this....however, you'd have to be at Allstate for a minimum of 6 months for me to get any referral fee. Unfortunately, I won't be here for 6 months more....much less 6 weeks. So there will be no referral fees...sorry.
