Default will a 245/40zr17 fit on a 17x7

ok, i just got a brand new set of rubber. i got 2 215/45ZR17 91W for my fronts. I know those will fit on my 17x7 rims... but on the backs, i have 17x7's as well, and the rubber for the rears i got was 245/40ZR17 91W. Will that rubber fit a 17x7?

ehh... that's really big for a 7 inch width.

A 245 tire is too wide for a 7" rims. You might be able to make it fit but it probably wouldn't be all that safe.

Unless you are rolling your fenders in the rear a 245 wouldn't work anyway with that offset.

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=342793

Also, the front is going to be an issue with that offset unless you are running a 195 tire or adding wide fenders or rolling, although you can't get too much extra clearance out of rolling the front. Neg camber would probably get you into a 205 on the front.

Very poor option of rims for an S2000 if you ask me. Non-staggered rims in those sizes are going to kill your performance.

Running staggered tires on same sized rims is not the same thing as running staggered tires on staggered rims.

that size tire and wheel is already on the front. The only difference in the rear is that i'm dropping the rear wheel from a 7.5 width to a 7.

The stock tires on the AP2's are:
215/45ZR17 91W on a 17"7" wheel with a +40 offset
245/40ZR17 91W on a 17"x7.5" wheel with a +40 offset

i'm simply putting the fronts on the exact same size wheel, and the rears, im dropping from a 7.5 to a 7.

Sorry but that is not true

Stock for an AP2 is

Front 17 x 7 +55 offset
Rear 17 x 8.5 +65 offset

You have the tire sizes correct though

ah, so my problem would lie in the +40 offset. wouldnt that cause it to be in a little more? instead of out?

and holy crap i didnt know it was an 8.5 in the back! wow!

in that case, a 7" in the back would DEFINATLy not fit. So, if i wanted to get some 17" wheels, you would recommend? what?

and i want bronze, i dont care what brand, but i want bronze 17" wheels.

Ok I have 17x7 and have a Michellin Piolets 245/35/17 so yes it would fit but u wouldnt want to go any wider that is the max....... So people that are saying no it wont fit are reading recommended tire size but Ive been running them for about 7 months now and its great.....So again it will work......
